What is this hmm… site about? It’s hard to say really. It used to be a fancy index page with links and catchy image. I couldn’t find a good purpose for it, except for the name. Yes, the name “Amizan” is just perfect. Before I bought the domain I had already grown out of the virtual exhibitionism and this urge to produce “myself virtually”. Anyway, I had great plans on making Amizan my portfolio site and perhaps some useful art database.But when I got the domain, I lost all stamina and interest. I have no doubt that my laziness was one of the factors why Amizan has been just that – the storage for other more useful projects such as annerice.amizan.org run by wonderful people.
But! This is about to change!
“Amizan” is an adjective. In Haitan-Creole it means “funny” or “amusing”. Amizan has been online since 2002 or 2003, I can’t recall. The reasons why I bought this domain are still unclear to me, ladies and gentlemen. Of course, one of the pragmatic ones was that I was totally fed up with free services spamming my inobox, adds or limits I had to face on free web host sites.
What I am going to do with this place is turning it into some sort of portal which I hope to dedicate to something more than just …ranting. The WordPress gave me an opportunity to bring this place back to life, so to speak, which wouldn’t happen otherwise because I am lazy and spending hours in graphic programs as well as html/dhtml/flash clients IS NOT what I call entertainment. I used to..in the past.
